PATIALA: School of Commerce and Management of Khalsa College Patiala organised a seminar on "Overview of Secondary Markets". Surjit Menon, chartered accountant, manager National Stock Exchange was the main speaker of the day. He started the seminar with a brief history of stock markets and how it evolved over time and acquired its present status. He threw light on the new stock exchange M.C.X.
S.X. which has been recently inaugurated in Mumbai.
He further explained the trading of shares and various schemes of government to push up investment such as Rajiv Gandhi Equity Saving and Scheme and ETFs. He also enlightened the various safe investment methods in the stock markets. At the end he answered the various queries of students regarding career plans in stock exchanges and pros and cons of investment plans. Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha Principal, Khalsa College Patiala stressed upon the importance of awareness on the issue of secondary markets for the students of commerce and management. He also ensured that this seminar is going to broaden their horizon about various aspects secondary markets. Students from various fields of Commerce and Management participated in this seminar.
